Communicating as a CASA
Core Training Sections
In the first part of this class trainees meet and learn firsthand from current and former SFCASA client youth about their experiences in the foster care system and the impact of having a CASA advocate in their lives, including what individual youth consider to have been both valuable and challenging in their partnership with their volunteer advocate. Trainees will then have an opportunity to hear from veteran current advocates of diverse tenures, backgrounds and cases about their experiences and their reflections on their advocacy experiences.
Goals for this class include:
Listen and ask questions of current volunteer advocates.
Listen and ask questions of youth who have experienced foster care and their experiences with their volunteer advocate.
