You will find information, guidelines and tips for writing an impactful Court Report below. Please consult with your Case Supervisor regarding your court report and court appearance.

Court Report Writing Webinar

All new Advocates must view this webinar prior to writing their first Court Report. The webinar provides an overview of the purpose and goals for reports, as well as guidance for how to write a strength-based, youth-centered report. All Advocates, tenured and new, are encouraged to watch to receive 1 CE credit.

Court Appearance Instructions

  • Advocates MUST be in contact with the youth’s attorney at least a week in advance of the hearing date to coordinate participation in the hearing.

  • Please let the PSW know if you plan to appear at the hearing.

  • You must contact the court clerk by 8:30 am on the hearing date

  • You are encouraged to appear in person at court - it’s a great opportunity to connect with team members and learn more about the dependency system.

  • You may also appear virtually, if you cannot appear in person. Please remember proper video and court etiquette (Recording is not permitted, mute yourself, , be present when your case is called)

  • Have your camera on (private and confidential setting, professional appearance) and include your first and last name and “CASA”

You will receive detailed instructions specific to your case prior to the hearing date.
