This SFCASA Privacy Policy applies to San Francisco CASA’s collection of all donor and volunteer information, including collected via our website.

This privacy policy applies to collection of all donor and volunteer information, including information collected via our website. By submitting donor and/or volunteer information to us or any of our staff, a donor and volunteer consents to the terms and conditions of the policy and to our processing personal information for the purposes stated below.

Personal Information

“Personal Information” is information that identifies a donor and volunteer personally, such as a donor and volunteer’s name, address, telephone number, and email address. We collect and store the personally identifiable information that a donor and volunteer has provided us. Here are some examples of ways in which we may collect donor and volunteer information:

  • We may collect information, including name, address, email address via email or phone.

  • We may collect a donor and volunteer’s name, email address and other contact information, if a donor and volunteer registers for an event.

  • We may collect a donor and volunteer’s name, email address, telephone number and payment information, if a donor or volunteer make a donation.

From time to time, we may collect Personal Information from a donor and volunteer in ways not described above.

Use and Disclosure of Personal Information
Except as described in this SFCASA Privacy Policy or at the time we request the information, we will not disclose a donor or volunteer’s personal information to any third parties. We will not sell, trade, or share a donor or volunteer’s personal information with anyone else. We will not send a donor or volunteer mailings on behalf of other organizations. We will only share personal information if a donor and volunteer gives us specific permission to do so.

We will use a donor and volunteer’s information to comply with the law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to conform to the requirements of the law or comply with legal process served upon us, protect and defend our rights or act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of others.

We will collect payment information, billing address, and other information necessary to process a donation or event registration.

We will use the personal information to protect against potential fraud. We may verify with third parties the information collected in the course of processing a gift, event registration or other donation. If a donor or volunteer uses a credit card or debit card on the website, we may use card authorization and fraud screening services to verify that a donor or volunteer’s card information and address matches the information that a donor or volunteer supplied to us and that the card being used has not been reported lost or stolen.

We may report on the generosity of donors and volunteers, listing their name and gift level in our annual report, event programs, website, and other collateral materials, unless the donor specifically requests to remain anonymous.

A donor and volunteer has the right to review information that they have submitted to SFCASA. To review that information, please contact us at web@sfcasa.org.

Changes to the Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to change this SFCASA Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will note the last update at the bottom of this Privacy Policy.
