Press Room

Welcome and thanks for your interest in the San Francisco Court Appointed Special Advocate Program (SFCASA)! We are a volunteer-powered network of committed people who believe society has a fundamental obligation to support and protect children who are wards of the court.

The existence of SFCASA reflects a community will to improve quality of life, expand opportunity, and prevent delinquency for San Francisco’s 1,200 abused and neglected children in foster care. SFCASA began operations in 1991 with its first class of 11 volunteers. Twenty-three years later the organization serves more than 250 foster youth each year. Read more about our History.
