SFCASA Swears in over 100 Volunteers in 2007.
We have already sworn in over 100 new CASAs who completed training during the Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall of 2007. Thank you to all of the Volunteers and to everyone who participated in and supported our expanded volunteer outreach effort over the past year.
San Francisco Board of Supervisors Restores SFCASA Funding.
On behalf of everyone at SFCASA we would like to thank the San Francisco Board of Supervisors for restoring the SFCASA grant that funds 100 CASA cases in the new fiscal year.
Thanks to the terriffic outpouring of support by volunteers, staff, community supporters and friends of SFCASA, Budget and Finance Committee members Board of Supervisors President Peskin and Supervisors Ammiano, Elsbernd, Dufty, and Mirkarimi listened to our statements with the utmost care and concern and recommended to the full Board that our funding be included in the 2007-2008 City Budget.
We are grateful for their recognition of the more than 41,000 volunteer hours that SFCASA volunteers invest in our community and for their commitment to the life-changing advocacy and mentoring performed by SFCASA volunteers.
SFCASA Thanks our Amazing Volunteers.
On Friday, June 15, 2007 SFCASA held its annual volunteer
appreciation event at the beautiful San Francisco Ferry Building to thank our
amazing volunteers who give so much of their time and effort to CASA kids
and the community. Volunteers and guests enjoyed the spectacular view of the Bay while also feasting on some great appetizers and wine.
The board and staff at SFCASA truly appreciate everything our volunteers do. Your commitment, hard work and support enabled SFCASA to serve 260 children in foster care during the past year. You
are the heart of the organization. We wouldn't be here without you!
Special thanks to Bank of the West for underwriting the event.
Art for Life Event

During a daylong art workshop with award winning local artist
Yuyi Morales , young artists created thoughtful works that
express their true inner selves-not just what you see.
These works of art were on display on Monday, May 7th at the Art for Life reception at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts . Every piece of artwork sold and all
proceeds from sales of the art will directly benefit the individual youth
artists. Read the Article from The Summer 2007 The Connection Magazine
The art that was created has also been also exhibited in the main hall of the Judicial Council of California - Administrative Office of the Courts in San Francisco in June of 2007.
